This annual webinar is designed to provide strategies and tools to assist nursing centers and assisted living facilities as they gear up to weather the hurricane season. This education will cover preparedness tips and best practices from the Agency for Health Care Administration, an overview of power restoration and provider response, as well as resources available from Florida’s Health Care Coalitions to support providers before, during, and after hurricane landfall.

Bernard Hudson
Chief, Bureau Health Facility Regulation
Agency for Health Care Administration
Bernard Hudson has worked in health and human service programs for over 20 years with a focus in data analysis, incident reporting and health care facility regulation compliance with both state and federal requirements where applicable. He served as the Emergency Coordinating Officer for the Agency and most recently as the Long-Term Care Services Unit Manager where he was responsible for the regulation of providers that offered long-term care services. Bernard currently serves as Chief of the Bureau of Health Facility Regulation in the Division of Health Care Policy and Oversight. He has served in this role since December of2021 and has oversight of four licensure units, the division's rule coordination section and the Certificate of Need/Commercial Managed Care unit.

Tom Parker
Senior Director of Policy & Reimbursement
Florida Health Care Association
Tom Parker serves as the Senior Director of Policy & Reimbursement for the Florida Health Care Association. On behalf of FHCA, he serves as a liaison to American Health Care Association and FHCA Reimbursement Committee and represents long term care providers before the Florida Legislature, AHCA, DOEA, CMS, and other entities regarding issues of reimbursement and health care finance policy.

Franklin Riddle
Executive Director
Tampa Bay Health and Medical Preparedness Coalition
Franklin Riddle has been with the Tampa Bay Health and Medical Preparedness Coalition since 2017, and has served as the Executive Director since 2019. TBHMPC is the largest HCC in FL, encompassing the 9 counties of the Greater Tamp Bay Area within Region 4 of West Central Florida. Prior to working with the Coalition, Mr. Riddle served for over 17 years in various public health preparedness and response roles, with the State of Florida Emergency Response Team and the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services / Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response. He has served in a variety of planning, operational, logistical, and command roles during both state and federal responses to planned and unplanned events such as NSSEs, public health crisis, and natural disasters in Florida and across the United States and its territories. In addition to being the Director of TBHMPC, Franklin is also the current Co-Chair of the Florida Health Care Coalition Task Force, and the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association Region 4 Alternate Governor.
