FHCA's Proactive Approach to Elopement Prevention is a two-hour virtual live training on Thursday, June 12, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. EST. Attendees will learn how to take a proactive approach to reducing resident elopement and methods to identify elopement risk factors and improve quality and resident safety.
Learner Objectives
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Define the facility assessment process
- Learn key terms and associated regulations
- Describe three key elements of elopement risk factors
- Detail the elopement evaluation and re-evaluation processes
- Discuss elopement and related policies/procedures
- Detail a seven day a week elopement prevention program

Michelle Dillehay BSN, RN, GERO-BC has been employed with the Agency for Health Care Administration since 1999. Currently, she enjoys working in the Survey and Certification Support Branch to provide training and quality assurance in Field Operations. She served as a supervisor and preceptor for the Orlando office that includes Orange, Seminole, Brevard and Osceola counties. Michelle was also a Registered Nurse Specialist surveyor and a Quality-of-Care Monitor for nursing homes and assisted living facilities from Daytona Beach to Miami. Michelle received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kent State University in Ohio in 1988 and has her Certification in Gerontology from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has enjoyed being a Registered Nurse for 35 years with over 30 years of experience in long term care."

Robin Allen received her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Florida State University in Speech Pathology. Robin’s career has focused on post-acute care initially in Therapy Services. Robin then became a Healthcare Risk Manager and focused her efforts on proactive and response driven Risk Management. Robin is the Chair of the FHCA Risk and Compliance Council. Robin is currently the Chief Risk Officer for The Lilac Health Group supporting a portfolio of SNFs and ALFs across Florida.

Robin A. Bleier RN, HCRM, LNC , has 40 years of health care experience, 30 of which in long term care. Robin's passion is teaching and training with a focus on risk management as a means to help improve quality and resident outcomes while increasing long term care professional's work satisfaction. Robin worked as a nursing assistant, LPN, RN, DON, regional nurse, CCO, and COO. She now owns and operates RB Health Partners, Inc. (RBHPs) a long term care consultancy firm for the past 20 years. RBHPs employs an interdisciplinary team of subject matter experts and consultants to support long term care providers meet their quality improvement goals.

Kim Broom

Kim Broom has been a Registered Nurse for 38 years with 27 years in long-term care as a Director of Nursing, Regional Nurse Consultant and other roles. She is a risk manager and for six years was the administrator of a 68-bed assisted living facility with an Extended Congregate Care license. She has recently received her Certification in Infection Control (CIC) as well. She came to FHCA in May of 2017 and is the liaison to the Senior Clinicians Council, Risk Compliance Council, Infection Prevention Council, and the Florida Center for Assisted Living (FCAL) Committee.
Tracy Greene

Tracy Greene began her career in healthcare as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist at an inpatient psychiatric hospital in the Florida panhandle. She then moved to the Florida Keys and worked in long-term care as a Social Services and Admissions Director, eventually moving into an Assistant Administrator role. She became a Nursing Home Administrator in 2000 and was also the company’s internal Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. In this role, she worked collectively with the CEO, COO, and the County to streamline disaster planning for three nursing homes. This included obtaining CDL Class B licenses for several employees (including herself) and managing the use of school buses.
Tracy moved to Tampa approximately five years later and accepted a position with Southern Health Care Management (SHCM) as an Administrator. Later she was promoted to Sr. Administrator, then Vice President of Operations. She worked for SHCM for a total of 13 years where she won Administrator of the Year. In addition, Tracy was an Administrator for Woodbridge Care Center in Tampa for four years, as well as a Regional Vice President for Life Care Centers of America for two years.
Tracy is an active member of the Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) and has been on FHCA’s Emergency Preparedness Committee since 2005, serving as the Vice Chair and most recently the Chair. Tracy has testified in front of the Florida Legislature, publicly spoken on emergency preparedness at the Governor’s Hurricane Conference and presented at FHCA Annual Conferences.
When not working, you can find Tracy watching sporting events, especially football, enjoying time out on the ocean, doing Pilates, traveling, and participating with her alma mater, University of Florida.
