Effective April 1, 2024, Enhanced Barrier Precautions (EBPs) are a requirement in skilled nursing centers for residents with wounds or indwelling medical devices during high-contact resident care activities regardless of their multidrug-resistant organism status. FHCA has partnered with A.C. Burke of RB Health Partners, Inc. to offer this on-demand program to help centers implement these precautions and help your teams be confident with this practice. Participants will learn the details of EBPs to evaluate your center's program and increase effectiveness.
After viewing this program, participants will learn how to:
- Define Enhanced Barrier Precautions (EBP)
- Describe CDC and CMS guidelines on when and how enhanced barrier precautions need to be implemented
- Discuss strategies to support EBP compliance
